The Sleep Eat Connection

by bkhoury on January 28, 2011

As my kids moved from pureed food to solid food, it was really important to make sure their tummies were filled to the brim.  This meant they would sleep through the night and oh how I value my sleep.

With my 15 month old, I still make sure he has a full tummy at every meal because it means restful naps, which means happy Hunter after naps, which means happy mommy, which means happy dinner time and happy sleep time (until 7 on a good day)... And the circle continues.

So when my 2 year old started waking up at 5:45 am and consequently woke up Hunter, our fragile cycle fell to pieces!  Both Hunter and William were too tired to even eat.  Will started throwing temper tantrums and Hunter started crying uncontrollably.  He simply could not hold it together!  Suddenly my two amazing eaters were the most persnickety kids in town!

I took the advice of my sleep guru, Dr. Weissbluth and fought sleeplessness with sleep.  I moved up bed time and nap times and got us back on schedule.  This week the boys are back to their normal selves and devouring practically every morsel of food in sight.  So…. time to go grocery shopping again!

  • I tried Burn Notice but I couldn’t get tuhorgh the first ep so I gave up. Not for me.I am pretty sure Doctor Doctor, Night Court and Dear John were all together in some kind of 2 hour mash up at some stage, with an hour of Night Court, the the other two. It was always pretty late by the time Doctor Doctor aired. And all on Ch 9.Then later of course was the awesome Pacific Drive with the evil disc jockey Trey Devlin who morphed into an equally evil serial killer and bumped off half the cast. And Pacific Drive introduced us to Danielle Spencer ie Mrs Russell Crowe.Course we can’t produce quality garbage like that ourselves anymore. Instead we have to import Outrageous Fortune from New Zealand.
